The Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves have advanced to the 2024 Western Conference Finals during the NBA playoffs. WEB

The victory gives the Mavericks a 3-2 series lead heading into Game 6 on Saturday night in Minnesota. The Timberwolves must win Game 6 to force a Game 7 back in Dallas on Sunday.

Doncic finished with a game-high 33 points, while Irving added 24 points. Tim Hardaway Jr. chipped in with 19 points off the bench for the Mavericks.

The Timberwolves were led by Anthony Edwards' 22 points. Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points and 10 rebounds, while D'Angelo Russell had 17 points.

The Mavericks took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Timberwolves 33-18. Doncic scored 10 points in the quarter, while Irving added 9 points.

The Timberwolves made a run in the fourth quarter, cutting the lead to 103-97 with just over four minutes remaining. But the Mavericks held on to win, thanks to some key plays from Doncic and Irving.

The Mavericks will now have a chance to close out the series in Game 6 on Saturday night. The Timberwolves will need to win Game 6 to force a Game 7 back in Dallas on Sunday.
